Rome Wedding

The Photographer

Picture
We didn't have a fortune to spend on a photographer and every quote we had seemed so very expensive and far more than we had hoped to pay. Eventually through searching the internet we found Siobhan of shpfoto.com

Siobhan Hegarty is a professional wedding photographer from Ireland, now living and working in Umbria, Italy. She photographs weddings throughout Rome, Tuscany, Umbria and Marche. She will travel to Rome by train, as getting around the city and parking is not an easy option. After the ceremony she traveled to the various locations with us in our car.

Siobhan has many packages you can choose from and you can tailor make one to suit your needs. Her website shows all the options available and gives you a good idea of how much to expect to pay. One of the huge benefits to Shpfoto is that you, the customer receives the copyrights so you can have your photos printed wherever you choose or are free to make your own photo book as below. Of course Siobhan also offers packages with beautifully and professionally printed photos in high quality Italian albums.

For our day Siobahn arrived at our apartment taking photos of the preparations and then onto the ceremony, various locations throughout Rome and then finally a few photos at our reception location. She had a very friendly and relaxed approach throughout and although both me and my husband are a little camera shy, she completely captured the moments without any feeling of intrusion and we never once felt overpowered. She was happy to travel to the various locations with us and she fully took advantage of the beautiful surroundings, totally capturing the feel of Rome in her photos. We were thoroughly delighted with the end results and everyone comments on how beautiful our photos are - we feel that some look like they could be from a magazine!

Ideas for your wedding photos

Printing out each and every photo can end up being expensive, not to mention the cost of the albums you will be putting them in.
Photo books are not only a beautiful alternative, but can actually work out a lot cheaper whilst holding more photos than a traditional album.
After viewing and trying some UK based photo book companies we recommend a US company called Blurb. Simply download the photo book program from their website, add the photos you want to print, choosing layouts, backgrounds, styles and text boxes, and upload. This can be as easy or time consuming as you choose but it is fun to make and the end result is a very high quality and professional looking photo book you will absolutely love.
To give you an idea of cost, my 10'' x 8'' book consisted of 333 high resolution photographs printed on premium paper and spread over 160 pages, bound in a hard back book with a printed dust jacket, and cost £31.95. Postage for this size book is as little as £3.99 increasing to £21.96 for express tracked delivery. Books start from as little as £6.95.

If you do want to print out your photos Bonusprint is great for uploading and printing large quantities of photos as the print prices and delivery charges are very cheap and the quality is consistently good. By signing up for their newsletters you will receive special offers for discounts and photo gifts such as key rings, mugs, cards etc
Also sign up to Asda photo and PhotoBox and you will receive 40 free 6x4 prints - just pay for delivery. Great for handing out to family and friends.
A great website for your online photo album is again PhotoBox. You get a huge amount of free storage so you can upload your whole wedding album online for your friends and family to view.
